1 · Name the claim

Write down what you think is true before anyone starts collecting proof. The hypothesis stays visible while the evidence arrives.

2 · Let the evidence disagree

Attach interview notes, funnel numbers, and support tickets to the claim they speak to. Keep the evidence that supports it and the evidence that contradicts it.

The first idea did not survive its own process

Before this I was head of product at a Series C startup selling to Fortune 500 banks, watching roadmap decisions get made on what the CEO wanted, with nothing from a customer underneath them.

Meridian started in July 2024 as Component Monkey, a Figma companion for turning design components into React code. I watched people less technical than me do that exact work by talking straight to an LLM, and the evidence said the layer I was building was not needed. So I killed it. Roughly six months and a few thousand dollars of my own money in, what survived was the process: write down what you believe, put the evidence next to it, and change direction when the two disagree.
